Bike Ride Schedule – Summer 2012

We have organised a varied programme of bike rides to suit all abilities, not only the enthusiast but also those who would like to gain confidence on shorter local rides. There will usually be a refreshment stop providing not only a break from cycling but also chance to meet other people in the group. See the Events Page for details so far . . . . .

Cycle Maintenance Courses – Spring 2012

Due to overwhelming demand, we have organised more Cycle maintenance courses!

Cycle  Maintenance Courses

Are you confident in mending punctures, adjusting brakes and gears? If not, these courses are for you. Darren has already run courses  in Knutsford, Macclesfield and the Wilmslow Guild

Basic Course

A 90 minute course designed to teach inexperienced cyclists how to carry out basic repairs whilst out and about on their bikes. Your tutor will bring along a cleaned bike on a work stand with various mechanical problems and work with the group to fix each one.

Each session runs as follows.

  • M / ABC Check, is the bike road worthy
  • Essential tools to carry
  • How to remove / replace wheels and fix a puncture quickly
  • How to mend a broken chain
  • Question and answer session

The course is very hands on. All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools.

Designed for 6 to 8 people £15.00 pp

Basic Course Dates

27th and 28th March 7pm Knutsford Leisure Centre

£ 15 per person, No need to bring a bike

Intermediate Course

The 2hr intermediate course is designed to help clients maintain their bikes to a higher standard, thus spending less time and money at the bike shop.

  • Brake’s how to balance, replace cables, blocks and pads.
  • Gears how to index, change cables, get them running nice and smooth
  • Measure and fit a new chain
  • Cleaning / Service schedule
  • Question and answer session

The course is very hands on. All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools. Unless you think your bike would benefit from any of the above. Free labor just pay for any parts used

Designed for 4 to 6 people £20
