Local Routes

1. Knutsford Loops 1 to 4
Work in progress! These are cycling routes which start and end at the Tatton Park Knutsford Entrance and use, wherever possible, the minor roads. They will also interface with The Revolution to access the start from anywhere in the residential areas of Knutsford. There are places of interest and usually ‘watering holes’ on each route.
1.1 Loop1-Rostherne   10.5 miles riding North from Knutsford   Info L1
1.2 Loop2-Budworth-Pickmere  20 miles going West of Knutsford
1.3 Loop3-Lower Peover    14 miles going to the Southof Knutsford
1.4 Loop4-Mobberley, 4B Airport Bat Tunnel  13 miles riding to the East of Knutsford
(Note the maps pre-date the de-truncking which created the B5569)

2. The Revolution    6 miles circular fun and safe route around Knutsford.
The Revolution  Developed by the CycleKnutsford organisation to create a 6 mile circular ride around Knutsford on our quieter and residential roads. This will enable people to get around Knutsford safely for leisure and their daily commute. Launched on 2nd April 2018. The Map has been refined in May 2018

3. Styal Mill    National Trust Leaflet. 6 miles circular on tarmac roads, bridleways, cobbled streets and joint pedestrian/cycle paths.

Enjoy this circular route around the perimeter of Styal Estate. It’s a ride of contrasts, starting from the main car park for Quarry Bank Mill, cycling through the 18 th-century village of Styal, passing close to Manchester  Airport, then crossing two rivers at the edge of Wilmslow.

4. Cheshire Cycle Way (Route 70) An on-line guide to the Cheshire Cycleway which is a network of backroads and routes passing some interesting places in Cheshire – on our doorstep! Check out these places of special note: Places of Note

5. CheshireCheese Loop

6. Heritage Loop

The Countryside Access Development Officer of Cheshire East Council together with North Cheshire Riders are developing a long distance horse and cycle route (please see the attached maps of the Cheshire Cheese Loop and the Heritage Loop routes). Each year our Rangers put together a programme of events called ‘Open Air’. It has been suggested that one of these events for next year could be a cycle ride along one of the circuits of the newly developed route. The Cheshire Cheese Loop is described as a very pleasant 25km ride on country lanes, byways and bridleways.

Cycle Knutsford will be collaborating with this initiative by helping to lead a cycle event for the Open Air programme, alongside Cheshire East Rangers.

More details will be published as the planning is concluded.
