Local Routes

1. Styal Mill    National Trust Leaflet. 6 miles circular on tarmac roads, bridleways, cobbled streets and joint pedestrian/cycle paths.

Enjoy this circular route around the perimeter of Styal Estate. It’s a ride of contrasts, starting from the main car park for Quarry Bank Mill, cycling through the 18 th-century village of Styal, passing close to Manchester  Airport, then crossing two rivers at the edge of Wilmslow.

2. Cheshire Cycle Way (Route 70) An on-line guide to the Cheshire Cycleway which is a network of backroads and routes passing some interesting places in Cheshire – on our doorstep! Check out these places of special note: Places of Note

3. CheshireCheese Loop

4. Heritage Loop

The Countryside Access Development Officer of Cheshire East Council together with North Cheshire Riders are developing a long distance horse and cycle route (please see the attached maps of the Cheshire Cheese Loop and the Heritage Loop routes). Each year our Rangers put together a programme of events called ‘Open Air’. It has been suggested that one of these events for next year could be a cycle ride along one of the circuits of the newly developed route. The Cheshire Cheese Loop is described as a very pleasant 25km ride on country lanes, byways and bridleways.

Cycle Knutsford will be collaborating with this initiative by helping to lead a cycle event for the Open Air programme, alongside Cheshire East Rangers.

More details will be published as the planning is concluded.

5. Cycle Knutsford Ride 1: Tatton Park to Ashley & Mobberley
